Q. What is a BayRaiser?

A. A BayRaiser is a CBF supporter who fundraises on CBF's behalf through our easy-to-use web tool.

Q. How does it work?

A. Just complete the BayRaiser Registration Form and then begin to customize your own personal fund-raising page. You can share why clean water and a clean Chesapeake Bay is important to you, in your own words and photographs. Then, set a fund-raising goal and invite your friends to donate online through your personal page. The thermometer on your page will track donations and you and your friends will see it rise as you get closer to achieving your goal.

Q. What if my friends want to pay offline with a check or credit card?

A. The quickest and easiest way for your friends to donate—and for you to get credit for their donation—is to process the transaction through your BayRaiser web page. However, we can accept offline donations as well. Ask your friends to complete this form and then send the forms and payments to CBF.

Q. Where will the money go?

A. Donations you raise will support CBF's advocacy, litigation, education, and restoration programs. And every gift makes a difference...

  • $25 can plant five native trees as a streamside buffer
  • $50 can grow 5,000 native oysters
  • $150 can pay a teacher's tuition for a five-day professional development course
  • $500 can send eight students for a day of learning in and around the Bay
  • $1,000 can remove 600 pounds of trash from the Bay and its tributaries
