On September 7, 2014, hundreds of cyclists will take in the scenic beauty of Maryland's Eastern Shore and support clean water while riding in the 10th Annual Tour de Talbot. You can be one of them. More than just a bike ride, the Tour de Talbot gives back to local rivers and the Chesapeake Bay by supporting the Midshore Riverkeeper Conservancy (MRC) and, for the first time, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF).
Join CBF's team for the 62-mile course or register as an individual, join another team, or create your own team—there are many ways to participate in this fun event that brings together cyclists of all ages and abilities. Last year's 375 registrants included pro riders, kids, and everyone in between. Just choose the length of course you wish to ride—20, 62 or 100 miles—and then register here.
Registration will increase from $60 to $70 on September 1. Registration includes lunch and a drink ticket, a t-shirt; rest stops on the banks of the Wye and Choptank Rivers with food and drinks; fully marked routes; and cheering crowds at the finish line! Kids under 16 ride free.
Once you register, you can raise funds using the event website, and win prizes too! The rider who raises the most money will win a Diamondback road bike that retails for $2,200!

We need your help! CBF is hosting a rest stop and providing volunteers for the 12:00-6:00 p.m. shift. If you are interested or want more information, please contact our Eastern Shore Grassroots Coordinator, Hilary Gibson, at email@example.com.
Our goal is to raise over $7,500 for clean water through the support of our friends, family and colleagues. Just go to the Tour de Talbot "Teams" page, find "Sponsor a Team" in the right-hand column, select "Chesapeake Bay Foundation," and make your donation. Your tax deductible gift of $25, $50 or $100 means more students and teachers can attend field experiences, more trees will be planted, and more oysters will be planted on sanctuary reefs in the Bay.
Event sponsors for the 10th Annual Tour de Talbot include Bicycling Magazine, Calhoon MEBA Engineering School, Bay Pediatric Center, Bike Doctor, Kelly Benefit Strategies, and Dock Street Foundation.
