Q: Will I be able to arrive by boat to Bands in the Sand?
A: No, not easily, simply because we will not be providing a shuttle to pick up guests and bring them to shore. If you have dinghy available on your boat, you are welcome to bring that to shore. However, CBF assumes no responsibly for your boat but we will provide a place for you to beach your dinghy. In addition, Whalers will not be able to beach, they will have to be anchored out.
Q: Where do I park?
A: We have two remote lots for you to park at, from these lots you will be shuttled to the event. The main lot is located at St. Anne's school of Annapolis and the over flow lot is located at Hillsmere elementary. See our Parking & Directions page.
Q: How much are tickets to Bands in the Sand?
A: Tickets are $100 each. They can be purchased online until 11:59 p.m. Thursday June 13 or over the phone until 4:30 p.m. on Friday June14. Tickets will also be available for sale the day of the event, while space permits. Credit cards and cash are both acceptable forms of payment.
Q: What does the price of my $100 ticket include?
A: The ticket is ALL INCLUSIVE and includes all you can eat and drink while enjoying three great bands on our beach.
Q: If I buy my ticket after May 31, will it still be mailed to me?
A: No, any tickets purchased after May 31 will be available for pick up at will-call the day of the event.
Q: I'm having trouble buying tickets online, is there another way to purchase them?
A: Yes, you can wait to purchase at the door or, if you would like to guarantee your ticket, please call 410-268-8816 and we can help you over the phone.
Q: What are the hours of the event?
A: Bands in the Sand will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday June 15. At this time the gates will open and the complimentary shuttle service will begin running back and forth from offsite lots to the CBF parking lot. The event will end at approximately 10:30 p.m.
Q: What kind of food will be served?
A: Fried fish sandwiches, jerk chicken sandwiches, pork kabobs and veggie burgers. In addition, we have an assortment of salads—roasted veggie, potato, bean, fruit as well as various snacks and desserts.
Q: What kind of drinks will be served?
A: Drinks include a variety of beers, wine, margaritas, rum punch, Painkillers, and specialty vodka drinks as well as juice, soda, and water.
Q: Can I bring my own food and drinks?
A: There is no need to bring in outside food and beverage as plenty will be provided and is included in your ticket price. However, if you have dietary restrictions and wish to bring your own food or beverage that's fine.
Q: What bands will be playing and what kind of music do they play?
A: Three bands will be performing at Bands in the Sand. They are: Unity (calypso/reggae band), Mad Planet (cover band & ska/reggae music) and the night will close with Misspent Youth (pop/rock cover band)
Q: What should I bring with me?
A: With the price of your ticket, all of your food and drinks for the evening will be covered. However, there are a few things you should consider bringing with you:
- beach chairs or beach towels so you have some place to sit on the beach;
- a sweatshirt or jacket for later if it should get cold;
- your favorite pair of sunglasses, as it tends to be bright on the beach at 5:00pm.
Don't forget to bring cash or a credit card if you want to purchase raffle tickets or a one of a kind, specialty printed Painkiller t-shirt.
Q: What if it rains?
A: Bands in the Sand will be held rain or shine. In the event of unsafe weather conditions, information will be posted on our website and outgoing voicemail messages (410-268-8816).
Q: Will seating be available?
A: Just a limited amount of seating will be available. Please bring your favorite beach chair or blanket.
Q: What is being raffled off this year and how much are tickets?
A: This year we are raffling off a Vespa Scooter and a custom beach cruiser bicycle. Tickets are $10 for one ticket or $25 for three.
Q: Can I use my credit card to buy raffle tickets on the beach?
A: Yes, you will be able to pay by credit or debit card on the beach and at the door.
Q: Are bathrooms available on site?
A: Yes, we offer nice bathroom trailers that have full stalls and sinks available for your use.
Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: No, due to the large number of guests on the beach, dogs are NOT allowed.
Q: Is this a kid friendly event?
A: Children are not encouraged to attend. This is an evening event where alcohol will be served. There are no children's activities and no reduced ticket price offered.
Q: What kinds of shoes are appropriate?
A: You will be spending the entire evening on our sandy beach, so wear something comfortable or something you don't mind leaving at the shoe dock (there will be a dedicated spot available for you to leave your shoes so you can spend the evening barefoot).
Q: Is the price of my ticket tax deductable?
A: Yes, a portion of your ticket ($50) is considered a donation to CBF and therefore is tax deductable.
