• Fall Field Experiences
  We still have availablity on our one-day field experiences from CBF's Clagett Farm to various canoe programs all over the watershed! Apply now.
• Spring Field Experiences
  Get your students learning outside with CBF this spring 2013. Read our FAQs about the application process. Applications for spring one-day experiences will be available in October on our website.
• U.S. Green Ribbon Schools 
  The U.S. Department of Education has recognized seven schools in the Bay watershed as U.S. Green Ribbon Schools. Thaddeus Stevens Elementary School in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, has outlined their efforts here so that other schools can follow their lead. 
• FieldScope Update
  CBF and National Geographic have been partners throughout the development stages of FieldScope, an online mapping tool specifically for the Chesapeake region. To access this unique tool for their classrooms, teachers should now use Chesapeake.fieldscope.org.

Environmental Literacy 
What does it mean to be “environmentally literate” and what does that look like for MD students?  Discover how educators like you are preparing to start the school year confidently and well prepared to integrate the environment across the curriculum. 

Student Fellows Take the Lead
Norfolk Academy's incoming 9th graders have chosen the environment as their focus. Read how CBF is partnering with the school to start the year with a high standard of outdoor leadership. Your class can also work with CBF to Learn Outside.    

TEACHER TOOLS

Water Water Everywhere Put your students in charge of determining how efficient your school is with water conservation. This audit gives grade-specific activities and lessons, a teachers guide, and a report outline for students to complete as they take responsibility for improving their own water conservation actions.

Just Keep Fishing, Just Keep Fishing
CBF has compiled data from the top Chesapeake Bay commercial fishing industries. This table has great economic, historical, and scientific information that you can use in your classroom.
