CBF Names April Strickland Hampton Roads Director of Major Giving

(VIRGINIA BEACH, VA)—The Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) is pleased to announce April Strickland as its new Hampton Roads Director of Major Giving. Strickland previously served for 10 years as the Assistant Development Director at the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center. While there she secured significant grants and arranged for sponsorships for major events. On Oct. 24 Strickland started her new position at CBF, where she works with community partners to support CBF programs in Hampton Roads.

"Growing up with the Chesapeake Bay as my playground inspired a lifetime of interest in conservation," Strickland said. "I am delighted to now be working for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, where I can continue to educate, advocate, and inspire people about Virginia's beautiful waterways."

CBF Hampton Roads Director Christy Everett said CBF is excited to welcome Strickland. "April's experience and enthusiasm make her the perfect new member of our team," Everett said. "She will work closely with our amazing supporters, who are the key to cleaner local waters."
