Farmers to the Bay—We're All In This Together

For many years the Chesapeake Bay Foundation has sponsored "Farmers to the Bay," hosting farmers from the Shenandoah Valley on week- end-long trips to Tangier Island in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay. The trips feature hands-on Bay exploration, education, and discovery, but the real focus is on meeting and engaging Tangier watermen, the island natives whose livelihoods depend upon clean water and a productive Chesapeake Bay. While the trips bring together men and women who live hundreds of miles apart, participants discover they have much in common --and that their worlds are more connected than they imagined.
