Education:
MS Fisheries Science from LSU 2011
BS Fisheries Science from Virginia Tech 2009,  Biology minor

Ben was fortunate enough to grow up in Tappahannock, VA on the Rappahannock River with marine and estuarine sciences being a major part of his early education. After focusing mainly on freshwater systems as a Fisheries Science major at Virginia Tech, he continued his educational and professional development at LSU studying oyster populations to earn a Master of Science degree in Fisheries Science.

Previous Experience:

  • graduate research assistant at LSU
  • manager of commercial oyster aquaculture farm
  • biological science technician for the USDA Forest Service

Philosophy:
Inspire new stewards of sustainability through the excitement of connectivity, emphasizing one person’s impact on an entire ecosystem.
