Alex McCrickard

Elisabeth Reed Carter Virginia Canoe Program Manager

Alex McCrickardTenure at CBF: March 2014-Present

Alex spent his first year as a CBF educator with the Susquehanna Watershed Education Program then moved down south to share the wonders of the Bay watershed with all who come out on the Elisabeth Reed Carter Virginia Canoe Program—first as the Assistant Manager and now as Manager.

Education: Sewanee, The University of the South, bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Natural Resources; Watershed Science Certificate.

Prior Experience:

  • Fly Fishing Guide at A Bar A Ranch in Encampment, Wyoming
  • Intern with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources
  • Fly Shop Employee at Backwater Angler in Monkton, Maryland

Education Philosophy: "I truly love sharing my knowledge of our environment and natural resources with people. Having grown up in Baltimore, Maryland, I was immersed into the Chesapeake Bay culture from a young age. What better way to 'Save the Bay' than to teach our students about it so that they too will have an invested interest in it’s future health."
