Kaity "Moss" Moss
Clagett Farm Study Center—Educator
Tenure at CBF: 2010-Present
Education: Johns Hopkins University, Master's degree in Secondary Education, English; Villanova University, Bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in Irish Studies, and a Humanities double major.
Prior Experience: Kaity (Moss)'s relationship with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation began when she was 13 years old, and attended a two week long gifted and talented program, the "Islands of the Bay" field experience. While receiving her Master's degree in Education from Johns Hopkins's University, she attended a Chesapeake Classrooms Professional Development course, which rekindled her love for CBF’s cause. She became an intern at the Karen Noonan Study Center in the summer of 2010, and was hired full-time at the Smith Island center that fall.
Education Philosophy: Moss feels a close connection to the water thanks to her background in the competitive sport of rowing, in which she participated in high school and into Division I at Villanova University. In addition, her strong background in education has allowed her to bring her classroom teaching experiences into the field with her. All together, Moss holds an appreciation for the Chesapeake Bay and the many creatures that call it their home, and hopes to spread that appreciation to others within the watershed and beyond.
