Long-term improvements in the health of the Chesapeake Bay and its rivers and streams requires knowledgeable, active, and inspired community members. Created in 2004, CBF's Volunteers as Chesapeake Stewards, or VoiCeS, program offers professionally taught, intensive educational courses for advocates who want to take a more active role in restoring clean water across the region.
Classes are offered in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Join us for an upcoming class to gain a deeper understanding of the Chesapeake Bay watershed and the challenges facing it, steps you can take to clean up your local waterways, and how to engage your community and elected officials. Other topics covered include pollution issues, fisheries and other wildlife, environmental justice, and more.
Many participants take what they learn in the program and put it to good use in their community. Learn more about their stories in our VoiCeS anniversary blog post.
Upcoming Classes
Note: VoiCeS classes are tailored to their host location. Because legislative and advocacy strategies are different for each state, you will benefit the most from registering for the course in your state or district.
