New Oyster Gardener Workshop Schedule

Please check back this summer for information on the 2014 oyster gardening schedule.

New oyster gardeners are required to attend an Oyster Gardening Workshop before beginning their first year of gardening. Workshops are held in the early fall due to seasonal availability of hatchery-produced oyster seed. Please check back in August for our 2013 schedule. If you would like to be an oyster gardener, sign our volunteer registration form and someone will get back to you soon. If you're looking for more information about CBF's oyster gardening program, send an e-mail to MDOysterGardening@cbf.org.

Workshop Information: Each workshop participant will build a set of four oyster cages from wire mesh, which will hang from their dock. The workshop will help new gardeners learn how to maintain their oyster garden throughout the coming year. Participants also receive several thousand native baby oysters to begin the program. There is a first-time workshop fee of $75.
