Guests of all ages enjoy learning about the Chesapeake Bay first hand on a CBF Bay Discovery Trip.

James Ronayne

At CBF, we believe that the best way to experience the Chesapeake Bay watershed is to immerse yourself in it.

With support from our members, we offer hands-on, unique outdoor education experiences—both on the water and on the land—in some of the region's most inspiring places. Now is your chance to experience the wonders of a field experience first-hand on a CBF Bay Discovery Trip.

Pull up a net with a CBF boat captain to see what critters call our rivers and streams home. Jump on a hayride at CBF's Clagett Farm to get up close with farm animals and explore how farming can help save the Bay.

Here's what some of our recent trip guests have said about the experience:

"This gave us a chance to see, feel, and experience just how much of a treasure the waters of the Bay are!"

"I especially enjoyed measuring the oxygen and salinity levels and water temperature and comparing those to the data collected before (tropical storm) Ophelia. Bart & Tiffany demonstrated their knowledge of the Bay and enthusiastically shared it. Great experience! Thank you!"

Trips are held in the spring and fall. Tickets are  $40 for members, $50 for non-members. Not a member yet? Join today!
