What a night! On June 8, 2024, 1,600 Bay savers rocked out in nature's greatest music venue at Bands in the Sand. With the Chesapeake Bay acting as a gracious host, concertgoers had plenty of reasons to celebrate. In one night of great music, delicious food, and good friends, we raised nearly half-a-million dollars towards saving the Bay! Thank you to all the sponsors, guests, volunteers, and vendors who made this event such a success.
Bands in the Sand is one of the region's most beloved annual traditions. Where else can you find such a unique combination of live music, refreshing drinks, and local cuisine all around a beachfront stage? Bands in the Sand is always a great time, and everyone in attendance understood the event's greater purpose. The money raised through the festivities helps support the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and our efforts to achieve clean water and a healthy environment for all our neighbors in the Bay's watershed. The funds raised through this event go wherever the Bay needs them most, including efforts over the next year like:
- educating 20,000 next generation problem-solvers outside and on the water;
- adding millions of oysters to the Bay as we work toward the goal of 10 billion new oysters by 2025;
- planting hundreds of thousands of trees in Pennsylvania as we move closer to 10 million trees by 2025;
- inspiring tens of thousands of advocates to take action for clean water in their communities.
