Norfolk Southern, one of the nation's leading transportation companies, has been a supporter of CBF's efforts to save the Bay for more than two decades. Supporting environmental education and strategic outreach initiatives in Virginia, the company has been instrumental in CBF's efforts to protect and restore the Chesapeake Bay.
During the 2012-2013 school year, support from the Norfolk Southern Foundation helped make possible environmental education programs for more than 8,800 Virginia public school children.
"Any corporation has a significant responsibility to the community in which it operates. It is incumbent upon Norfolk Southern to make the communities in which we operate stronger, and supporting environmental responsibility and sustainability is one way we do that," said Wick Moorman, Chairman, President, and CEO of Norfolk Southern and a member of CBF's Board of Trustees.
