Skipjack Stanley Norman

DIRECTIONS

CBF's Skipjack Education Program and the Stanley Norman work out of the following locations.

Annapolis City Dock

If you use Mapquest or other guidance apps to determine mileage, you may use the Harbormaster's Office address of 160 Dock Street, Annapolis, MD 21401. Map

  • Route 50, take Rowe Boulevard exit.
  • Follow Rowe Boulevard to the end. Make a LEFT onto College Avenue.
  • At the first light, make a RIGHT onto King George Street. Continue to the end.
  • Make a RIGHT onto Randall Street. Go through 1 traffic light.
  • Look for the Stanley Norman at the city dock on your left.
  • In order to avoid an illegal left hand turn you must continue straight to the traffic circle, go around and head back on Randall St. in the direction you came from.
  • Make an immediate right on Dock St.
  • Go to the end of the parking lot. Here, you can leave the bus and walk to the boat. There are public restrooms at the Harbormaster's Office on the way and everyone should use them before boarding.

NOTE: Cars may park at the Noah Hillman Parking Garage, one block up Main Street on the left (a sign will guide you down an alley to the garage from Main Street).

Buses may park at the Navy/Marine Corps Stadium located at the top of Rowe Boulevard. There is a fee shuttle from the stadium back to the docks. Plan on a ½ hour ride back to the dock from the stadium.


Annapolis Maritime Museum

PARKING

There is plenty of street parking nearby for passenger cars; however, the museum located in a small neighborhood and must be mindful of neighbors and neighboring businesses. Do not park at the Eastport Yacht Center across the street. School buses should proceed to the end of 2nd Street and we’ll direct you to the parking spot. Please do not block the driveway of, or turn around at, the marina across the street.

DIRECTIONS

  • From Annapolis City Dock (Our old dock): Take Compromise Street across the Spa Creek Bridge, turn left onto Severn Avenue, turn right onto Second Street, proceed to the end.
  • From Washington, D.C.: Take Rt. 50 East to Annapolis/Aris T. Allen Blvd./Rt. 665 Exit #22. (Do not take the ramp for Riva Rd.) Continue straight as the expressway ends and becomes Forest Drive East. Proceed to the 4th traffic light, turn left onto Hilltop Lane. Turn left onto Bay Ridge Ave. Bay Ridge becomes Chesapeake Avenue. Turn right onto Second Street, proceed to the end.
  • From Baltimore: Take I-97 South, turn onto Rt. 50 East, take the immediate exit onto Annapolis/Aris T. Allen Blvd./Rt. 665 Exit #22. Continue straight as the expressway ends and becomes Forest Drive East. Proceed to the 4th traffic light, turn left onto Hilltop Lane. Turn left onto Bay Ridge Ave. Bay Ridge becomes Chesapeake Avenue. Turn right onto Second Street, proceed to the end.
  • From the Eastern Shore: Take Rt. 50 West across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and exit onto Annapolis/Aris T. Allen Blvd./Rt. 665 Exit #22. Continue straight as the expressway ends and becomes Forest Drive East. Proceed to the 4th traffic light, turn left onto Hilltop Lane. Turn left onto Bay Ridge Ave. Bay Ridge becomes Chesapeake Avenue. Turn right onto Second Street, proceed to the end.

St. Michaels

The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum

  • From the western shore, take Route 50 East across the Bay Bridge.
  • Continue on Route 50 East once you get onto the Eastern Shore.
  • In Easton, take the Route 322 Bypass.
  • Exit on Route 33 West. Follow into St. Michaels.
  • The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum will be on your right on the main road (Route 33 West) in the town of St. Michaels. Look for the old drawbridge on the right. There is bus parking at the museum.

NOTE: Let the ticket office know you are participating with a CBF field program aboard the Stanley Norman.
